Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park and Oklahoma City University Sign Partnership Agreement
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park (OSP) and Oklahoma City University (OCU) today announced that they have signed a partnership agreement that will significantly benefit both entities.
OCU will provide rehearsal space for OSP, along with facilities for set and costume construction. OSP will provide OCU students and faculty in TheatreOCU and the Department of Theare with acting and staff opportunities, along with ticket discounts. The organizations will also cooperate on summer theater camps. The entities will remain completely autonomous. OCU already has similar relationships with Oklahoma Children's Theare and Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre.
"We are thrilled to announce this partnership," said David Holt, president of the OSP Board of Directors. "The dynamic growth at OCU, especially in the theater department, is exactly what we're accomplishing with our own organization, and we're excited at this opportunity to grow together."
"OCU is pleased to have this opportunity to partner with an organization like OSP," said Tom McDaniel, OCU president. "This is representative of our commitment to Oklahoma City's future."
In 2007, OSP relocated to downtown Oklahoma City and is currently presenting its 24th annual summer season at the Myriad Gardens Water Stage. Performances continue through Labor Day weekend. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.oklahomashakespeare.com.
